Both also have bistro dining areas in the back of the ship, which is called Arthur's on the Joy and the Bistro on the Geoffrey Chaucer. The Joy was built in 2016 by shipbuilding company, Scylla, which designs, constructs, outfits and manages hotel operations of Tauck's ships. The Cara features a different design scheme and color palette than the line's older ships; pops of rust-orange and dusty charcoal make appearances in the plush velvet seating in the lounge and the Cafe Vienna bistro area. The Cara also has fewer cabins, which provides more space for guests in the common areas and their staterooms.

A sold-out Cruise360, presented by CLIA, kicked off this week in Fort Lauderdale with more than 1,250 advisors in attendance. "It is amazing how much this event has grown since we first participated three years ago in Budapest," said Marcus Leskovar, executive vice president of AMADEUS River Cruises. "This is the biggest ASTA crowd I have seen in my 11 years at ASTA," said Zane Kerby, CEO and president of the American Society of Travel Advisors. "This event has grown exponentially over the last three years from 500 hardy souls in 2022 in Budapest to over 1,250 this year in Amsterdam." Finally, Kerby encouraged the advisors in the room to register for May’s Travel Advisor Conference (the rebranded ASTA Global Convention), which will feature tennis superstar Venus Williams as the keynote speaker. Kristie Keller, president of Addicted to Adventures, attended the expo for the first time last year.

All three of those ships were part of Crystal's river fleet, which Riverside acquired last year.

Being able to parlay the experience and connections gained by attending the River Cruise Expo into new business is powerful, Kerby said. Kerby used the event’s March 14 general session as a chance to share several updates regarding ASTA’s industry efforts.
For 2024, the four-day event — which took place March — included general sessions with supplier presentations and panels; educational workshops; open house-style ship tours; a one-day tradeshow featuring 50 partners; and excursions throughout Amsterdam. Many attendees will also participate in post-event fam cruises onboard the 12 vessels. Amadeus River Cruises, AmaWaterways, Avalon Waterways, Riverside Luxury Cruises, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours/Emerald Cruises and Viking are returning partners, while Riviera River Cruises, Tauck and Uniworld Boutique River Cruises have joined this year.
